Tiana had wanted to add some dark, gothic horror images to her portfolio. Always interested in trying a new style, I did some quick studying of some of the creative macabre masters and came up with some concepts of my own. Having visited Sunnyside a few years ago, I knew it to be the perfect location for this shoot.
On the way down, Tiana began to wonder if there would be enough diversity in the location to get more than a single portfolio image, as it wasn't her intention to fill her portfolio with dark, gothic images.... So, we decided to swing by Patagonia and shoot in front of the famous mission/nightclub before continuing on to Sunnyside.

Things went a bit less swiftly than anticipated, so we decided to grab a great lunch at Uncommon Grounds after the mission shoot. The local grass-fed Angus Burger is highly recommended! We then looked for a less aggressive trek to finish the shoot. We drove to the hilltop Patagonia cemetery and couldn't find the mood we were looking for, so continued on a bit scouting locations. We found a perfect rock cliff to do a windswept dress, but as I climbed the hill to scout, the wind died. It wasn't meant to be, and time started to run out. So, we headed back through Sonoita and continued over to Cienega Creek Natural Preserve, and found a way into that vast grassland to shoot some sunny day images.
With the skies starting to swell with moisture and our planned trip starting to run into overtime, we decided to head straight back to tucson.
