I have enjoyed photographing dancers and wanted to create some images that were more form studies than anything else. I wanted light and shadow to create depth in an uncluttered study. I asked yogini and children's yoga instructor Deanna White to work with me and chose a black background and edge lighting.

Here's the basic lighting setup - I moved the lights slightly forward or back based on the lighting needs of a particular pose and used barn doors on the rear lights so that no light would shine toward the lens or the background.
